
SISTER ANTOINETTE BOSCO, SC, age 90, died at Caritas Christi, the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill in Greensburg, on May 4, 2021. A Pittsburgh native, Sister Antoinette entered the congregation of the Sisters of Charity on September 8, 1948, from Holy Innocents Parish in Sheraden. Preceded in death by her parents, Michael, and Alice (Balme) Bosco, two brothers, Edward and Robert, and John. She is survived by a sister-in-law Eleanor and many nieces, nephews, grand- and great-grandnieces, and nephews. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Seton Hill University and a master’s degree in reading and language arts from the University of Pittsburgh. Sister Antoinette taught students in schools of the dioceses of Altoona-Johnstown, Greensburg, Lafayette, LA, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, and Tucson. She was principal at the Frederic Ozanam Center School, Pittsburgh, 1966-1972, at Saint Pius X School, in Mount Pleasant, 1974-1980, and at Immaculate Conception School in Irwin, 1980-1992. Sister Antoinette was an instructor in education during the summer sessions, 1962, 1963, 1969, at Seton Hill University. In 1995, Sister Antoinette was appointed family liaison for Saint James “Extra Mile” School in Wilkinsburg, a position she held until her retirement. A dedicated teacher, Sister Antoinette once spoke of her life as a Sister of Charity, “I am filled with gratitude for all the blessings that have been mine and for the many ways in which God has been involved in my life. His call has led me to many experiences of Church in different cultures and to journey with so many faith-filled people who have touched my life.”
