
SISTER M. ANGELA DAWES, age 88, died at Caritas Christi, the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill in Greensburg, on February 3, 2015. A Pittsburgh native, Sister Angela entered the congregation of the Sisters of Charity on September 8, 1946, from Holy Innocents Parish in Sheraden. Preceded in death by parents, George and Angela (Coleman) Dawes, two brothers, George, Jr. and Francis (Pete) Dawes and two sisters, Mrs. Regina ( James) McDermott, Paula Dawes and maternal aunts, Sisters Mary Paul Coleman, SC and Francis Mary Coleman, SC, she is survived by a sister-in-law, Joanne Dawes, and nieces and nephews. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Seton Hill University and taught children of primary grades in schools of the Greensburg and Pittsburgh dioceses and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Sister Angela commented on her years as a Sister of Charity, “They have been challenging, fulfilling, and I trust, pleasing to the Lord.”
