The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill mourn the loss of JoAnne Woodyard Boyle, President Emerita of Seton Hill University, and express their deepest sympathies to her husband Arthur, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Dr. Boyle was a respected colleague, teacher, and friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. During her twenty-five year tenure as the President of Seton Hill University, Dr. Boyle continued to build on the foundation laid by the University founders, the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill. With vision, she led the Seton Hill community through monumental changes, all the while maintaining the Catholic identity of the University. Her passion for excellence in the arts and sciences expanded as times and circumstances changed, but she continued to focus on the total development of students in preparation for “the world in which they will live.”

Eternal rest grant to her, O lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen
