Becoming Anti-Racist

The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill share this column written by Nancy Sylvester, published on the Global Catholic Sisters Report website. In this piece Nancy gives a thoughtful reflection of the race and divide our country is facing, calling each of us to contemplate our thoughts and evaluate our consciousness.
“Moving forward demands a new perspective, a new set of lenses, a new way of looking at what we thought we knew. It demands a new consciousness. Our hearts must become our organs of perception. The work will be different for those of us who benefited from the legacy of white supremacy and those who suffered because of it. But all of us have to find the place within us where racism in its multiple forms exists, shapes us and persists.”
