Sisters, Seeds, and Service
The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill are uniting this year Catholic Sisters Week and the world-wide Sacred People, Sacred Earth Day on Thursday, March 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at their Caritas Christi the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill in Greensburg, PA.
The event will bring together sister residents and staff members in a “Seed Planting Party” in the large atrium inside the entrance way of the building. Soil and seeds, planters and water jugs will be on six large tables encircling the atrium. It is expected that one hundred plants will be cultivated and transplanted at our six-year-old garden project site on the sisters’ complex and in our garden boxes outside the glass wall of the sisters dining room at the motherhouse.
Our commitment to uniting ourselves with Sacred Earth that is our home is hopefully experienced in the touching and planting of seeds from Earth’s bounty, especially from our 2020 Sunflower harvest. Because of COVID19, the event is closed to the public.
